Wedding Colours -What’s your favourite?

At Venus Bridal, most brides we’ve met over the years agree that the most fun part of planning your big day (besides tracking down your perfect bridal gown!) is styling your wedding, from venue to favours. When you start planning the overall theme and all the little finishing touches that will make your wedding unique, it can feel overwhelming; there’s so much to choose from – where do you even start? One idea, is to settle on your colour palette first and let it shape and define the rest of your wedding style. We’ve put together a few ideas to inspire you.

Pretty Pastels

Pastels are a popular choice, especially for spring weddings, as the light tones and colourful hues match the season so well. Pastels are also gorgeously feminine and offer a good variety of shades to come up with something that’s uniquely you. If your favourite Venus gowns are from the Pallas Athena collection and you’re picturing yourself at an outdoor ceremony in a floor length, flowing bridal gown, pastels just might be your perfect match. Perhaps daffodils are your favourite flower? A lemon yellow theme with pops of purple and lilac could be ideal. Pastel shades also lend themselves beautifully to vintage chic and bohemian style weddings – think bunting, jam jar posies and wild flowers!

Berry Chic

Do you dream of a wedding packed with black tie style glamour? Have you chosen an elegant full length wedding dress in luxurious satin? Or perhaps a sparkling, crystal encrusted princess style bridal gown? Then dramatic berry shades might be right up your street. Think red roses, scarlet bowties and boutonnieres for your groom & his best man, candle lit dining tables and all out luxury. Of course, your berry shade doesn’t have to be red; it could be a dark purple jewel tone, a deep pink, or a combination of your favourites!

Bright & Beautiful

If you’re planning a summer wedding, bright pops of colour are a fabulous way to add style and personality to your big day. Maybe you’re jetting off to a sun kissed beach to exchange your vows and opting for a short style bridal gown or more relaxed wedding dress from our Informals Collection? Bright colour pops are a great way to add a consistent element to your wedding style, whilst maintaining the casual and relaxed vibe. You could let each of your bridesmaids pick out a different coloured dress in the same style, or choose just one bright colour, perhaps a vibrant pink or a cobalt blue and use it to add splashes of fun on everything from your invitations through to your table settings.

Once you’ve defined a colour palette you love, you can let it influence everything from your flowers to your stationery and your table settings through to your favours.

Have you decided on your colours yet? We love hearing about your wedding plans!
